How it works

When the official Survey Voting Megathread is posted, there will be a top-level comment for each category.

• Nominate a work to a category by replying to the category comment.
• Vote for nominated fics by upvoting the nominating comment.
• After voting ends, we’ll release the finalists as our yearly reading list.

• What’s different this year?

Categories

• 18 standard + 20 fan-picked = 38 categories (View categories: Top Fics Survey 2025)
• Nominated fics must receive at least 5 votes to rank in a category.

Nominations

• Must be the title of a specific fic. Unless part of a special format category, only titles for fanfics are allowed as nominations. Please nominate titles that are part of a series individually.

• Must have been updated or completed within the last 2 years. Must have an “Updated” or “Completed” date within the past 2 years (more recent than 2023-12-01 / December 2023). See the full list of qualifying AO3 works (works from other platforms are also welcome)

• Must feature Draco/Hermione as a primary relationship.

• Must meet all criteria for its category.

• May contain 100% human-created content. Examples of disallowed nominations: works containing AI imagery, uncredited fanart, AI-generated audio or video.
