Rights and Wrongs series

The series provides the overarching universe in which all the fics take place. All fics in the series share a single (more or less) canon-compliant timeline up to the Battle of Hogwarts. During the Battle of Hogwarts, the timeline splits into two distinct universes: The Right Thing to Do Universe and The Auction Universe.

The Right Thing to Do Universe – 4 fics

For the fics in this universe, the timeline of events unfolded in a familiar way: Voldemort was defeated; Harry and Hermione testify at Malfoy’s trial; and then we jump forward to a post-war, post-Hogwarts world where the characters are building their careers in their 20s.

The four fics within The Right Thing to Do Universe also serve as the “official” timeline of events (or what actually happened) within the Rights and Wrongs series.

The Right Thing to Do Universe fics

The Auction Universe – 3 fics

The fics in The Auction imagine alternative universes to the “official” events depicted in the fics from The Right Thing to Do Universe. In these fics, we jump back to the Battle of Hogwarts, only this time, Voldemort wins the Battle of Hogwarts and the dark plans we heard about in The Right Thing to Do come to fruition.

As the story unfolds, we start to gain a more complete picture of some of the references made in The Right Thing to Do. Meaningful glances, things that went implied but unsaid, and details revealed over the course of the plot.

The Auction Universe fics

To add additional complexity, the two short fics in this universe are actually mini alternative reality tellings of scenes within The Auction. They are intended to be read while reading The Auction, so be sure to check out our reading order guide: What’s the best reading order for the Rights and Wrongs series?
